Board

Room for Art is managed by a three-member board according to the relevant Law of the Republic of Cyprus regulating the establishment of Foundations: The Chair of the Board, the Secretary of the Board and the Treasurer.

Erato Ioannou

Chair of the Board

Erato Ioannou is a writer and a founding member of Room for Art. Since the publication of her first book Cats Have it All (Armida, 2004) her work has appeared in journals and anthologies around the world. Her new collection Not in the Ornamental Teapot is due for publication in September 2020. She is Assistant Editor-in-Chief at In Focus, the journal of the Cyprus PEN.

Concurrently, Erato is a Higher Administrative Officer and Coordinator at the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA). She previously worked at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, and Youth where she was actively involved in policy developments and reforms at national level and international cooperation. Within the Ministry, she also managed European funded projects for two consecutive years.

Erato holds a Bachelor degree in English Language and Literature (ΒΑ) from the University of Cyprus, a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing (MFA) from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and a Master in Public Sector Management (MPSM) from the Cyprus International Institute of Management.

Constantinos Moustakas

Treasurer

Constantinos Moustakas was born in Nicosia and is a founding member of Room for Art. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master of Science in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  During his studies in the US Constantinos was an avid volunteer in the various cultural activities of the Greek-American Community of Wilmington. During the same time, he was also actively involved with the Cyprus Engraved publication project of the Cyprus Museum of Jacksonville North Carolina. Constantinos appreciates the historic center of Nicosia within the walls and sees potential for cultural development where others only see rubles.

Nikos Ioannou

Secretary

Nikos Ioannou, also known by the stage name Sneaky Nick, was born in Paphos and he is the Secretary of Room for Art. He studied Business Administration at the University of Piraeus in Greece. Upon completion of his studies, Nikos traveled the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans onboard Celebrity Cruises ships, where he performed as a DJ in front of international audiences for almost a year. Upon his return to Cyprus and after a brief sojourn into the business world, Nikos decided to focus on his career as a Dance Music Producer and DJ. His work appears on Spotify and currently he is resident DJ at Leonardo Cypria Maris.
